Challenger Ponies News
CONGRATULATIONS CECI D'AMORE AND BLUE JAY for qualifying for Pony Finals the first time in the green pony hunters!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!! Also congratulations to ANGELA POLLEX for qualifying for the USEF pony medal finals for the 2nd year in a row. Angela and her pony Knock Your Soxs Off also won the PSJ pony medal finals this year. |
Challenger Farms would like to welcome the newest addition to our crew, Jessica Fredricks. Jess comes to us with a background in eventing, but we like to think she is making a turn to the bright side of the hunter world. She has incredible patience with the little kids and the young ponies, has impeccable grooming talent to present ponies to customers as well as the show ring, and most of all she puts up with me! Special thanks to Dr. Brian Atwell of Northlake Animal Hospital for introducing her to us! |
CONRATULATIONS TO ANGELA POLLEX AND HER PONY KNOCK MY SOXS OFF FOR QUALIFYING FOR THE USEF PONY MEDAL! Angela and "Remy" had a great first time showing in the regular pony division at the Sedgefield A show in Greensboro. Not only did Angela win the medal but she was also reserve champion in the regular larges. Not bad for her first time in both at an A show! What a great job. We were happy to be a part of such a special day. |
Congratulations to Alexandra Holloway on her lease to purchase of "In The Running". We wish them much luck the rest of the year in Walk-Trot and look forward to next year in WTC and x-rails. Special thanks to Karen at Irish Oaks for sharing such a great horse and parting with him after a decade of knowing him! He is everything you said he would be. GOOD LUCK Alexandra!!! |
We would like to welcome Rollingwoods Unequaled to our group of show ponies. Special thanks to all the sisters at Rollingwoods for sending one of their greatest ponies ever! We cannot wait to take her to a show, and wish Claudia Pollex the best of luck with her! We also hope she will have many kids to ride her here for many years with us! |
On my recent trip home to visit my dad, I was able to visit my old children's hunter horse Dragon Spirit (pictured at St. Louis on the 'About us' page in 1990). Dragon is still living a great life and at 28 years old is in great shape. Hopefully someday he will retire at Challenger Farms. It had been almost 17 years since I had seen him - he is still sweet as ever. Special thanks for Ali for taking me to see him. |
Copper's Aunt Karen said there are not near enough pictures of the dogs, so we took some this weekend! |

Over Memorial weekend, along with the help of Gabi, Savannah and Melanie, we broke '"Monkey" AKA Challenger's Rock-n-Roan' pictured above with Gabi and '"Firecracker" AKA Stoneledge Just My Style' pictured at right with Savannah. Monday was Firecracker's 3rd day undersaddle and he walk, trots and canters for anyone! As Monkey is not quite 2 years old yet, we will wait until the end of June to officially start him. | |

We have finally finished our home! As a result we even went out to dinner!
However, our oldest and dearest kitty (KC - pictured below) was not able to make the move with us. She will be sadly missed.

We did have a litter of new kittens though, and as much as we wanted to keep one, they have all found new homes. |
